DESCRIPTION:Dreading difficult political conversations around the holiday dinner table? Maybe you find yourself walking on eggshells around family or friends. Maybe conversations about controversial issues turn into debates, or you've started avoiding these topics altogether. \nYou're not alone. But what if we could approach these conversations differently? \n\nThe Center for Character and Citizenship invites UMSL students and St. Louis community members to join us for Dinner, Divides, & Dialogue, a community dinner and interactive workshop exploring how we can navigate political differences while maintaining meaningful connections with the people in our lives. \n\nOver dinner, we'll introduce strategies for navigating difficult political conversations. Then, through interactive activities and guided practice, participants will have an opportunity to practice these strategies, reflect on their own experiences, and consider how to apply what they've learned to conversations in their everyday lives. \n\nRegistration Details: Space is limited to 26 participants. Interested individuals must complete an application by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Applications will help us manage attendance and plan for a range of perspectives and experiences. UMSL students attending with a guest will receive priority consideration. \n\nApplicants offered a place will be asked to submit a $20 refundable deposit to confirm their participation. The deposit will be refunded after they attend the workshop. Interested in joining us for this much-needed dialogue? Submit your application today! \n---\nEvent Details: https://tritonconnect.umsl.edu/rsvp?id=387008
